Urban Retreat Description

Has this holiday season been hectic for you? Have you been caught up with over-scheduling yourself with social events, trying to get work done before the Holidays, or trying to meet some unrealistic holiday perfection? Are you caught up in driving the "over-doing" habit and undermining our deepest desires for connection, celebration, and joy during the holidays?

 

Are you wanting to find some time to reconnect with your deepest joy and what you truly cherish?

 

What needs to happen in order for you to be able to cherish something? Do you need time, to be relaxed, or simply to be intentional?

 

Come join this daylong retreat like workshop designed for you to take time out for yourself and connect with your 2022 intentions and joy. Through experiential learning at a relaxed pace with a community of like minded participants, the workshop will focus on taking time for yourself and developing your capacity for self-awareness through mindful practices to listen deeply to your heart and bliss. Session themes will include yoga, mindfulness, sound baths, journaling and connecting with your 2022 intentions, tips for self-care and cultivating community to move towards your intentions.

Ayurveda specialist

Honey is a specialist in Ayurveda health. She is an entrepreneur in the online fashion industry with her White Chocolate Couture lifestyle brand. She is also a purveyor of Indian health and wellbeing goods and services. Her inspiration and joy comes from creating and cultivating communities that are supportive and paying it forward.

Vy Le, CMT-P, MBA

Mindfulness

Vy received her training in mindfulness facilitation through the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center. She is a Certified Mindfulness Teacher - Professional through the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA). Furthermore, she believes in the growth of the mindfulness space and is a Program Manager for the IMTA, which is dedicated to the professionalization and standardization of the mindfulness field. She has shared mindfulness and compassion practices to all age groups from teens and young adults (as a mentor with Inward Bound), professionals, healthcare providers, to retirees. Vy is a certified coach through the International Coach Federation and is also trained in the practice of Focusing by Gene Gendlin, a somatic process to help one deeply listen to the wisdom of the body. She has a degree in Mathematics with a specialization in Computing and Business Administration from UCLA, and an MBA from USC.

Mimi Brehmer, MPH

Well-being Specialist

Mimi is a graduate of UCLA and has a Masters of Public Health from Loma Linda University. She has over 20 years of collective experience in working with organizations to develop a culture of well-being for optimized productivity and enhance quality of living. As a consultant in the manufacturing and technology industry,  she has led Health and Productivity Management (HPM) and Six Sigma projects which include developing strategies to integrate resources and programs focused on value on investment (VOI). As she evolved with her own well-being she grew passionate about supporting individuals to be empowered to their wellbeing by cultivating more awareness to know what they need for enhanced quality of life.  She has led initiatives with industry specialists to offer Mindful Leadership programs for executive teams.  She also supports  mindfulness and wellbeing programs internationally and teaches mindful movement and restorative yoga in local communities. Mimi is committed to philanthropy work and leads  “Project Share the Joy” a non profit charity,  connecting individuals to support global communities in need.  She shares her life practices with friends and family, and especially with husband  Scott and children Avery, Emery, and Michael.
